Hydrotech™ 5600 Combination Organic Color Removal & Softener Unit

This special application unit contains a media bed that has both anion and cation resins. The anion resin removes color caused by organic compounds found in some water supplies. Organic compounds known as tannins are decayed animal and vegetable matter which discolor the water and cause it to stain almost everything it comes into contact with. The cation resin allows it to also soften the water without making it necessary to add a second unit. The unit is regenerated like a standard water softener with saturated salt brine to release the trapped organic color compounds and hardness minerals.
